I am a very attentive listener and usually give most, if not all of my attention to the speaker. I scored a 78% on the listening portion. My Lowest score was memory and I agree with my results of being 58%, if not lower than average. I do sometimes have trouble recalling correct information and retaining it.
I can improve my listening memory by association and relate what is being said to something I may already know. I can also learn to make better use of mnemonics in order to help visualize and in turn, remember information being expressed.
I am not as open minded as I am attentive. My score was a 88% overall, my highest being respect 95%, and my lowest score was open-mindedness 68%. Which I found very shocking because I thought I am very open minded and not bias.I always listen and try even before I knew about HURIER, I used it subconsciously.
Well I guess I should improve on my open-mindedness, and be more open to others ideas and not just listening and comprehending what their saying but applying it .
My overall profile score was 69%. I am a very attentive person I always make sure that I am paying attention to the presenter I always have a tendency to smile and or nod my head. I do it so they can feel comfortable. I scored 86% on the attention part. My lowest score on the other hand was my open-mindedness in which I scored a 54 % on, this came to me as a shock because I thought that being attentive and being open minded went hand and hand.
I can improve on my being more open-minded becoming a person who is always willing to consider new ideas by other people. I can try to understand their situation and put myself in their shoes.
My overall profile score was a 61%. I am a attentive person, and show that by my response to the subject being conveyed with a score of 86% to be my highest. At the same time I am not that open-minded with a score of 26% to be my lowest. I do agree with the results because I respond rather quickly based on my views, and not giving my response much thought.
I can improve my open-mindedness by being more open to the views and ideas that others present within a conversation. I can also lower my empathy (78%), and raise my respect (55%) so I would not respond based on emotions rather based on factual evidence in the subject.
In my self assessment test, all of my marks were above 50%, which they say if very good and an overall 69%. My low mark was my open-mindedness, which I scored a 60%. When I am listening to someone one talk, I need to open my mind and try to listen to the speaker's point of view instead of shutting them out because I don't feel the way they do. I realized this same point when I was talking to a friend in the same day as I took the test. I kind of tuned them out because they were talking about something that I didn't care about and didn't agree with.
My highest mark was my empathy, which I scored a 76%. When someone comes to me with a problem, I'm very caring and try to relate to their problem. I also try to give them suggestions about how to solve or fix their problem.
I am an attentive listener who gives a great deal of responsiveness to the speaker. My overall profile score was 79%.My highest score was on attention and response which was 86%. My lowest score was open-mindedness and respect which were 70%, I do not agree with my respect results because I believe I give much more respect to the speaker.
I will improve on my open-mindedness by being more open to new ideas and applying them in my life.
What kind of listener am I? Well according to the Listening Self-Assessment quiz, I appear to be a very respectful listener with a score of 80%. But on the other hand I seem to be an extremely close minded listener, with a score of 28%.
I apparently need to work on being more open minded, well how am I supposed to accomplish that? Well I have to start listening with empathy, which means I have to apply myself to be more aware, appreciative and understanding of the speaker's thoughts and feelings. I must learn to empathize with others or I'll never understand what is happening to the other person. With trying to be an open minded listener, I must place my views aside and be fully attentive to the speaker's thoughts.
My overall profile score was 66%. My highest score was in the respect area with a score of 78%. My lowest scare was 53% in the memory area which doesn’t surprise me at all. I have always had bad memory. I had the hardest time memorizing multiplication and division when I was younger. Vocabulary was also a difficult task for me; I just couldn’t seem to memorize anything. Now that I am older people ask me all the time, “Hey do you remember when…” and the truth is I usually never remember what they are talking about.
People have told me to do puzzles dealing with memory to quicken and sharpen my memory. I have always played puzzles; they were my favorite, but they never helped me. I have experimented with my memory because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t a serious issue. I now know that when things are repeated to me many, many times that it is so much easier for me to remember them. When I study, I need to study several times to remember the information.
In the case of how good I am at listening i scored a 92% in the attention section. I have always been the type to pay attention to everything that I am suppose to listen to and even everything that is going on around me. However, my lowest score was in the response section with a 64%, this really does not surprise me. I have never been the type to answer back, I tend to be quiet and just listen, but that is something I need to improve on.
I can improve this by showing a reaction to something that has been brought up to me or even when I am listening to the teacher in class I can smile or nod my head. The teacher will not that I paying attention and will be happy that I have some type of response, even if it is not vocal. Also, I need to be able to voice opinion and have a response, this is something that I know I need to work on and hope I can improve my listening skills.
My overall profile score was 77%. My highest score was in the open-mindedness area with a score of 92%. My lowest score was 54% in the response areas. I have a hard time expressing myself, because I am usually worried about what people will think of me and worried that they will find what I say stupid.
I can improve this by showing a reaction to something that has been brought up to me or even when I am listening to the teacher in class I can smile or nod my head. I can also try to express myself better by not worrying about people think of me and just letting out what I feel. Hopefully I can change these things and better these skills for the future.
I need to work on memory and respect. Those were my lowest scores at 80%. I can work on memory by repeating things back when they are said to me. And I can work on respect by being open-minded when people are telling me a story even though I don't necessarily agree with it. I would have to say I agree with my scores. I did pretty well but I need to work on certain things.
My overall score was 80%. I consider myself a good listener in that I am always aware and engaged in conversations I am having. One area of improvement that I can work on is using the HIURIER model, specifically the remembering/recalling aspect, where I can better apply my exisitng knowledge to the current topic of conversation. What I would also like to work on is implementing mnemonics which can also aid in memorization and can give me an overall better understanding and capability to retain facts and other information.
my overall profile was pretty good for listening considering that listening is a very difficult task. My highest percentage was attention at 96%. Although I show attention my open-mindedness is not that high at 70%.
I can improve my open-mindedness by considering others point of view a little better and their situations. Also letting go of certain biases I strongly stand by now. It's the hardest task to rid yourself of a biase but I could try in order to improve my interpersonal communication.
